Where does your shrimp come from?

Shrimp On Wheels sells only United States Gulf of Mexico Shrimp. You won't find imported farm raised products here. With the continuing scares of imported food illnesses (contaminated dog food from China, "Mad Cow" disease from Europe, Asian bird flu, Swine Flu from Mexico, etc.) it's comforting to know that the United States Food and Drug Administration along with the Baldwin County Department of Public Health and Seafood Conservation Division work closely with local processors to oversee the proper handling, processing and delivery of raw shrimp.

What size shrimp do you sell and in what size packages?

Shrimp On Wheels currently offers medium and large headless shrimp packaged in 3 & 5 pound bags. Due to food handling restrictions, bags may not be subdivided for sell. However, you are welcome to repackage the product at your home suitable to your needs.

What if I'm having a party or have a large order?

Any single request of 30 pounds or more must be ordered in advance (the preceding Wednesday). Because Shrimp On Wheels is designed to sell shrimp direct to consumers, we want to be sure everyone along the route has an opportunity to buy product. If you are having a party or large gathering, we are more than happy to help you, we simply ask that you order in advance. There is no extra charge for delivery within the designated route. However, if outside the route, a delivery fee may apply.

Do you sell other seafood items?

When available, we also sell local blue crab meat.  Claw, Lump and Jumbo Lump are perfect for your crab cakes, West Indies salads and gumbo!!!

Do you deliver everyday?

Shrimp on Wheels delivers along the Eastern Shore of Mobile Bay on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Please refer to our Route Map for approximate times and locations.

Do you deliver in my neighborhood?

Our current Route Map services the areas of highest concentration of homes along the Eastern Shore. While the "Shrimp Truck" will weave through some of the residential streets along the route, the Route Map indicates designated stopping points where you can meet the "Shrimp Truck" near your home or office.

If you have other questions, please don't hesitate to contact us via phone or e-mail.
